Alberto

(March 2022)

Starting September 2021, we started living in Siracusa.
(while still working on Casa Cugni which is and will be in progress for a very long time).

Siracusa is a really nice place to live.
It’s not so small that you get bored and it’s not so big that you get lost.
The sea is a 5 minute walk away.
The city is full of tourists in the summer but when they leave the city slows down and kinda just hangs out.
Lots of artisans, artists, musicians and mostly everyone has/had some sort of project in the countryside.
People are warm and friendly and love to mingle.

Since it’s a small city, if you start getting to know locals, eventually you start re-meeting a lot of the same people.
I was introduced to Alberto at least 4 times by 4 different people. He’s a cool guy.
It just so happened that he had recently bought a new apartment and had lots of walls to paint.
He let me paint one of them :)

The proximity to the sea and the spring sun in the Sicilian countryside morphed my funny little flowers.
No traces of white, lots of yellow, green and blue.

A blooming triptych.
